Wind Market Status: US wind market grows in the gloom US:
The US wind market had a record year again in 2009, with installed capacity rising nearly 40% on 2008, the year of the US's financial collapse.
Renewable energy is the foundation of the fast growing Green movement. Many market forces and government incentives are creating a momentous upsurge in this industry and most existing producers are operating at full capacity. There is tremendous room for growth for new companies and companies with better ideas and solutions to capture a large market share. In addition to being aided by government sponsored research and economic incentives, political pressure from ecologically concerned citizens is fueling this growth.
Feed-in tariff (FiT, feed-in law, advanced renewable tariff or renewable energy payments is a policy mechanism designed to encourage the adoption of renewable energy sources and to help accelerate the move toward grid parity.
FiTs typically include three key provisions:
- Guaranteed grid access
- Long-term contracts for the electricity produced
- Purchase prices that are methodologically based on the cost of renewable energy generation and tend towards grid parity.
Under a feed-in tariff, eligible renewable electricity generators (which can include homeowners and businesses) are paid a premium price for any renewable electricity they produce. Typically regional or national electric grid utilities are obligated to take the electricity and pay them.
Energy finance summit leaders see investment rise to $500 billion by 2020
March 22, 2010 the clean energy investment outlook has brightened, according to 300 thought leaders attending the third annual Bloomberg New Energy Finance Summit, March 2010, in London. Some 57% of participants polled thought that global investment in clean energy would triple to $500 billion by 2020.
Fastest Growing Energy Source Wind energy is growing fast. It has been the world's fastest growing renewable energy source for more than a decade with an average annual growth rate of over 20%. In 2008, the United States had a record-breaking year by increasing generating capacity by 50%. According to the American Wind Energy Association, wind energy in the United States could provide as much as 10,777 billion kWh annually and more than twice the electricity generated in the U.S. today.
A groundbreaking study has found that Nebraska and the other states in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) region can reliably obtain 40% of their electricity from wind energy, achieving major carbon emissions reductions and incurring only minor costs associated with operating the power system differently than it operates.
"If 2 percent of the continental United States were covered with photovoltaic systems with a net efficiency of 10 percent, we would be able to supply all the U.S. energy needs," said Bulovic, the KDD Associate Professor of Communications and Technology in MIT's Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
It would be hard to imagine a better time to participate in Eco technologies including renewable, Green Solar technology and Wind Turbine sustained Energy investments. The shift into a responsible development of America's resources is eminent and the current demand is ever increasing. Green Renewable Sustainable technology have brought all aspects of the Wind and Solar industry into the 21st century with clear benefits and inherent potential for multiple commercial spin offs of the new Hybrid Renewable Energy applications. The financial rewards are galvanized with government incentives and tax benefits for wind and solar energy installations.
"Over the past 4 years, the wind turbine and solar energy industry has transformed into one of the most technologically advanced industries in the United States. New innovations and cutting edge technology have reshaped the industry into a technology leader, in all segments of the industry. Green Energy, Inc. will play a role both in the services and as a new technology provider in the evolution of the solar and wind hybrid industries, focusing on symbiotic dual usage Wind and Solar Farms inked with Sports complexes".
